Purpose

The Center was organized in 1992 and funded by a
grant from the Dean's descretionary funds. The mission of the Center
for Teaching Effectiveness and Faculty Development is to enhance
student learning by promoting improved teaching practices of faculty
and graduate instructors in the Walton College of Business. In addition,
its mission includes the development of faculty in the Walton College.
Consequently, the Walton grant is partially funding the Center.
Core Values

As society changes, so do the needs of our students.
We recognize that students have different learning styles, that
they need to make connections between the classroom and the business
world and that rather than learning a set body of knowledge, they
must learn to continue learning. Our core belief is that the emphasis
of education should not be on teaching per se but on student learning. |
